Join Jean Skipper on Saturday, March 6th between 12:00 and 3:00 when she'll lead you in clay handling, slab construction, texturing, and design as you create a One-of-a-Kind North Carolina Pottery Heart similar to the one shown in these photos.
If 1 just isn't enough, an extra may also be created at an additional cost. This option is available only at the time of registration, and up to 1 extra Heart per guest may be made in a single class session.
The sky is the limit as you form, texture, shape, and embellish these treasures, and the pieces that you make are sure to be treasured for a lifetime. (They make wonderful gifts too!)
Beginners are welcome, and those age fourteen and older are invited to attend. Parents with younger children may register for 2 class seats together, in order to join them in class.
The all inclusive price of this class includes supplies,tool usage, glaze selection, kiln firing, and instruction.
After allowing for drying time and one firing, bisque fired pieces will be available in the gallery for students to personalize their glaze selections. (If you'd prefer a single color of glaze, with some raw clay textured highlights, we'll also be happy to glaze on your behalf!) We'll call you when your pottery is in the gallery and ready for this step.
After glazing, we'll allow time for drying and one additional glaze firing in the kiln. Jean will notify you of the approximate date that she expects to have your finished pottery in the gallery, and we'll update you again when it's ready for pickup.
Other Important Information:
- Registration allows for 1 person per class. Only those who have registered may participate.
- Face coverings are required throughout the gallery at all times.
- At ARTworks Vass, we practice safe social distancing. Learn more by clicking the "Our Response to covid 19" tab at the top of this page.
- Aprons are not provided. You may bring your own if you wish.
- Class starts promptly, so be sure to arrive on time.
- Registrations are non-refundable.
