10/5/24 - Session 3 of 4-Class Series - Watercolor Painting Classes with Beth Bale
Join Beth Bale for a series of 4 watercolor painting classes starting on Saturday, August 10th, 2024 from 10:00 to 12 noon and continuing on a monthly basis as follows:
Saturdays 10:00 to 12 noon:
Aug. 10th
Sept. 7th
Oct. 5th
Oct. 26th
Attending class on a monthly basis allows time in between to work on your watercolor techniques, build on the techniques learned in class for a wider repertoire of skills to use in the next painting and so on. Beginners through intermediate painters are welcome, as Beth can offer additional challenges to more experienced painters when you let her know your desire for more challenging work.
During each class we will review your works from the previous month and discuss the next class plans. Beth demonstrates during each class, showing students how to use different techniques to create the day’s painting. Color mixing, sketching, simple composition and use of light and shadow are discussed among many other topics.
Topics of study include painting landscapes, florals and animals (topics may be modified with input from the class). Guests are welcome to work on other subjects during this class and receive feedback on their work, making this class amendable to a more intermediate-level student as well. Class size is limited to ten participants, so there is always opportunity to receive feedback and ask questions.
Supplies:
Beth provides beginner level paints, paper, brushes and palettes for a nominal fee so the beginner student can try out a new art form without a large investment in supplies. Those who have painted in watercolor and have their own paints, paper, brushes and palettes are encouraged to bring them.
Everyone should bring the following:
- Two stable water containers,
- A painting board measuring about 11"x14" (such as a piece of strong cardboard, plexiglass, wood paneling, plastic yard sign, etc.),
- Masking tape, (not scotch tape),
- Pencil and white or gray eraser,
- Paper or cloth towels,
- Spritz bottle
Cost for the series of 4 classes is $150.
Beth is an encouraging and fun teacher who has painted in watercolor for over 30 years. She is a signature member of the Watercolor Society of North Carolina and sells her work in galleries in Carrboro, Chapel Hill, Sanford, Milton and here at ARTworks Vass. You are invited to join this class to learn the joy and vibrancy of watercolor painting from a painter who loves to teach and share the joy of the painting process!
