11/17/24 - Introductory Beginner Watercolor Painting Class with Beth Bale
Embark on your creative journey with our introductory beginner watercolor painting class!
Join watercolor artist Beth Bale for an introductory beginner watercolor painting class on Sunday, November 17th from 2:00 to 5:00. This single-class event provides you with the opportunity to try your hand at basic watercolor painting techniques such as wet-into-wet painting, dry brush, mixing colors, lifting paint, use of various brush types and more. You will paint an original landscape painting of your own during class (though you may paint something different if you wish).
This beginner class allows you to discover if watercolor painting is for you. If you fall in love with this amazing painting medium, you may be interested in Beth's upcoming series of beginner watercolor painting classes!
Everyone should bring the following supplies:
- Two stable water containers,
- A painting board measuring about 11"x14" (such as a piece of strong cardboard, plexiglass, wood paneling, plastic yard sign, etc.),
- Masking tape, (not scotch tape),
- Pencil and white or gray eraser,
- Paper or cloth towels.
Beth provides the following supplies:
- Beginner level paints,
- Watercolor paper,
- brushes and palettes.
- Those who have painted in watercolor and have their own paints, paper, brushes and palettes are encouraged to bring them.
Beth is a member of Chatham Artists Guild, Sanford Brush and Palette Club and is a signature member of the Watercolor Society of NC. She has won awards from WSNC, Chatham Artists Guild and Sanford Brush and Palette Club for her watercolor paintings of nature and animals in a colorful and loose style, with focus on light and shadow. Beth teaches students to paint with freedom and fun, with a no-pressure style that helps students find their own style and preferences. You can see her work at ARTworks Vass.

- Children age 14 and older may attend class independently.
- Children under age 14 may join this class if a responsible adult also registers to attend and participate with them.
- Registration allows for one Guest per class project.
- Only Registered Guests may attend class.
- Registrations are non-refundable.
- Class starts promptly as scheduled.
- Dress to mess or bring an apron.
