Session 4 of 4 class series.


Ready to take your wheel-throwing skills to the next level? This 4-class series is tailored to beginner level guests with recent wheel experience (within 4-6 weeks) or those who have completed a Beginner Wheel Throwing class.


Over four sessions (spanning three weeks, with a break before the final session), students will focus on improving their technique, creating larger and more refined pottery pieces.


Key details:

  • Students should already know how to center and open clay.
  • The first session includes a quick review, and working on smooth bowls, straight cylinders, and bowed-out shapes, with emphasis on shape, wall thickness, and skirt trimming.
  • Each session includes a “throw it until you wreck it” exercise to explore limits.
  • Students will save 1-2 pieces from the first three sessions to learn trimming in the fourth session.
  • By the end of the course, students aim to complete 10-12 glazed pottery pieces.

  • Jan. 4th 2:00-5:00
  • Jan 11th 2:00-5:00
  • Jan 18th 10:00-1:00
  • Feb 1st 10:00-1:00


Important Information: 

  • Beginners with recent wheel experience are welcome.
  • Children age 14 and older may attend class independently.
  • Registration allows for 1 person per class. Only those who have registered may participate.
  • Registrations are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
  • Missed classes cannot be rescheduled or refunded.
  • Class starts promptly, so be sure to arrive on time.
  • Dress to mess or bring an apron!
