2. June 7-8th Sticks and Stones – A Meditative Approach to Acrylic Painting
Step into a world where painting becomes a slow, deliberate, and deeply meditative process. Join Jodi Ohl on Saturday and Sunday, June 7th and 8th from 9:00 to 4:00 for this two-day water media workshop, where you will explore Jodi's signature Sticks & Stones technique—an approach that blends fluid color, organic shapes, and expressive line work into paintings that feel both intentional and intuitive.
You will use Golden’s High Flow Acrylics to create luminous, watercolor-like compositions on hardboard, layering transparent washes with thoughtful mark-making to build depth and movement. This is not fast painting—this is about slowing down, letting the process unfold, and allowing art to transport you into a flow state. Through guided instruction, Jodi will teach you how to refine your composition, rhythm, and illustrative details, transforming simple elements into visually captivating stories.
For the final step, Jodi will demonstrate how to achieve her signature satiny finish using cold wax—giving your work that dreamy, encaustic-like glow.
If you crave an art experience that’s both expressive and meditative, this workshop is designed for you. Let’s create with intention, embrace the journey, and see where the layers take us.
