Looking for a creative escape? Join us on Monday, June 9th, for a guided open studio with artist Jodi Ohl, author of Abstracts in Acrylic and Ink. This is a unique opportunity to create in a supportive and inspiring environment with fellow artists—whether you're a seasoned student of Jodi's or simply looking for a space to paint, experiment, and explore alongside like-minded creatives. 


What to Expect: 

🎨 Creative Freedom with Gentle Guidance 

  • Jodi will be painting, demonstrating techniques throughout the day, and available to answer questions or offer guidance when needed. 
  • Work on any project of your choice—paintings, art journals, watercolors, or mixed media pieces. If you’ve hit a creative roadblock, Jodi can help you push past it! 
  • This is not a structured workshop or class—there are no set projects.

🖌  What to Bring: 

  • Your own art journal or painting(s) to work on. Additional surfaces are available for purchase if you'd like to start fresh. 
  • Bonus: Your studio fee includes access to Jodi’s student-quality paints and supplies—a great chance to try new materials before investing in them yourself! 
  • If you prefer, bring your own tools and supplies, but please be mindful of space limitations.

🕑 Afternoon Session: 2 PM – 5 PM 


🥪 Lunch Break (1–2 PM): Enjoy a break on your own—feel free to bring your own lunch or grab a bite at Crossroads Coffee located next door. 

This is a casual, relaxed studio experience designed to spark inspiration and encourage creative flow. We’d love to have you join us at ARTWorks Vass for this special event—or at one of our upcoming gatherings!

This lodging option is available only to guests of ARTworks Vass, and the property is privately owned and managed by a trusted member of our community. There are a variety of lodging options locally, and AirBnB is one of our favorites! ARTworks Vass is located directly in the center of Vass. Any listings showing “Vass, NC" or “Horse Country” are generally within ten minutes of the gallery. Locations in Carthage, Southern Pines or Pinehurst are generally within 20 minutes. (We're unable to include a direct link to this search, so create your own search using the destination of "Vass, NC".   • Beginners are welcome.
  • Registration allows for one Guest per class project. 
  • Only Registered Guests may attend class.
  • Registrations are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
  • Class starts promptly as scheduled.
  • Dress to mess or bring an apron.
  • At ARTworks Vass, you're always welcome to bring your own Nibbles and Sips to class.
