Welcome to our 2026 ReMe Retreat on Ocracoke Island!
2026 will mark our 14th Annual ReMe Retreat on Ocracoke Island!
As as always, our previous year's guests are given the first opportunity to reserve their space in the following year's retreat before we offer the remaining spaces to those on our waitlist. Please register using this listing only if you were invited personally by Jean Skipper.

Please ask each individual who's interested to text Jean, and be sure to let her know that you'll be traveling together.
We know that the limited space, combined with the popularity among prior guests, makes it extremely difficult to gain entry to these beloved events, and we're considering adding a second ReMe Retreat in Ocracoke this year. Hopefully this will help us to accommodate all who are interested in joining us!
How much is 2026 ReMe and how to reserve your space?
The total price is $1699. You may pay this amount in full at the time of registration, or text Jean privately at 910-528-1109 if you'd like to break this amount into several payments. We want you to be able to join us, and we'll work with you on a payment plan if possible!
Accommodations
In 2026, after our one and hopefully our only break from it, we will be returning to our beloved Soundfront Inn for this year's ReMe Retreat on Ocracoke Island!
What is a ReMe Retreat?
ReMe Retreats are part vacation with your besties, part learning experience, and part immersion into the culture of our beloved Ocracoke Island. They also offer the gift of time. Time to spend with your fellow Artists, time for independent study, time for naps, wandering, yoga, massages, and the beach.
We also enjoy dining at fabulous restaurants on Ocracoke, attending live music sessions, local art classes, boat tours, Portsmouth Island visits, hikes and more. ReMe is not an organized instructional retreat where every minute is scheduled and planned. Instead it's more of an Open Studio with friends, with several included mini-workshops and optional activities available to those interested. (The 2026 are going to be more fun than you can imagine, and for now we're keeping them a secret because we love to surprise you!)
- Our time together begins with arrival on a Sunday evening, and departure on the following Saturday after breakfast.
- Most breakfasts and lunches are included, along with two evening meals.
- Coffee, tea, and spa water are included.
- Sweet and savory snacks are provided.
- Your ReMe Hosts will be creating beside you throughout the week, and will be available to help you in any way possible with projects in our mediums.
- Impromptu tutorials are a definite possibility, as are demonstrations led by any guest who is interested in sharing.
- At least 2 Mini Workshops will be held each week, and the supplies and price of them are included.
- We work independently on our personal Art Projects... or not! The choices of how to spend time on Ocracoke are all yours.
- Happy Hours tend to happen organically everyday, although they're not officially included in the retreat price.
- When meals aren't being provided, you'll have the ability to enjoy meals at a local restaurant, or to use our kitchen for your personal meal prep. Leftovers, if there are any, are always an option too!
- Our beloved ReMe Gift-a-thon is always a hit, and all attendees are invited to join the fun by bringing small gifts for each of their fellow guests. (This is completely optional. More details provided after registration.)
- And YES! Upon arrival, you will be asked to provide the answer to the dreaded question, "What would we be surprised to know about you?" on an index card to be shared one by one throughout the week. (We tell you this so that you can either think about it, or do something amazing between now and then!)
- A few special ReMe and Ocracoke Island Traditions and Surprises are also included.
