6/14/25 - Getting to Know Your Digital Camera (Level I) with Laura Gingerich at ARTworks Vass
Is your digital camera stuck on “auto”? If so, this easy-going, hands-on digital photography workshop is for you! Spend a day with award winning photographer Laura Gingerich having fun and learning how to transform a blasé snapshot into a stunning image.
The primary focus for this “Level I” class is to get off “Auto” and start exploring the world of aperture, shutter speed and manual settings. In addition, you will learn about the “art of seeing” and what makes an image with the WOW factor. Buckle up and let's make some memories!
What to know:
- Date/Time: Saturday, June 14th from 10:00 to 4:00.
- For best results, bring a digital camera that is less than five years old.*
- Designed for beginners. All experience levels welcome!
- Pack a lunch and snacks!
- Dress accordingly as we will spend a little time outdoors practicing.

About Your Instructor:
Laura L. Gingerich is an award winning photojournalist specializing in relief and disaster assistance. She is known for “having an eye for beauty in the midst of chaos” from her work around the world including Afghanistan, Lebanon, Haiti, Pakistan, West Bank and India.
When Laura is not on assignment, she loves sharing her knowledge by leading photography workshops and tours that inspire and motivate beginner to advanced level enthusiasts.

- Beginners are welcome.
- Children age 14 and older may attend class independently.
- Registration allows for one Guest per class project.
- Only Registered Guests may attend class.
- Registrations are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
