6/21/25 - Get to Know Your Digital Camera Level II with Laura Gingerich at ARTworks Vass
Ready to go beyond the basics? In this fun and hands-on “Level II” workshop, award winning photographer Laura Gingerich will lead you in exploring more of your digital camera’s features—diving into the dials and modes that help take your photos to the next level. With a mix of relaxed group discussions and outdoor practice, you'll sharpen both your technical skills and creative eye.
We’ll spend most of the day learning how aperture, shutter speed, and ISO work together—and how to use them to get the shot you really want. You’ll also explore composition techniques that help your photos stand out.
What to Know:
- Date/Time: Saturday, June 21st | 10:00 – 4:00
- Perfect for advanced beginners, but all experience levels are welcome.
- Ideally, bring a digital camera less than five years old* that lets you shoot in Aperture (A), Shutter Priority (S or Tv), and Manual (M) modes.
- We’ll be outside for part of the day, so dress for the weather.
- Don’t forget to bring lunch and snacks!

About Your Instructor:
Laura L. Gingerich is an award winning photojournalist specializing in relief and disaster assistance. She is known for “having an eye for beauty in the midst of chaos” from her work around the world including Afghanistan, Lebanon, Haiti, Pakistan, West Bank and India.
When Laura is not on assignment, she loves sharing her knowledge by leading photography workshops and tours that inspire and motivate beginner to advanced level enthusiasts.

- Children age 14 and older may attend class independently.
- Registration allows for one Guest per class project.
- Only Registered Guests may attend class.
- Registrations are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
