11/22/25 - Make a Long Leaf Pine Needle Ornament with Terri Watt at ARTworks Vass
Discover the beauty and tradition of pine needle art in this hands-on beginner-friendly workshop with Terri Watt on Saturday, Nov. 22nd from 1:00 to 4:00! Rooted in the practices of early Native American artisans, pine needle weaving—especially with Long Leaf Pine Needles (Pinus caribaea)—is a craft with deep ties to the southeastern United States.
During this class, you'll learn how to:
- Identify and responsibly gather Long Leaf Pine Needles
- Clean and prepare your needles for crafting
- Select the right threads and tools
- Master basic pine needle sewing techniques
- Complete your very own handmade pine needle ornament
This class is perfect for beginners, but those with experience are welcome to join and expand their skills. All tools and materials will be provided for use during the session, though feel free to bring any favorite tools of your own.

- Children age 14 and older may attend class independently.
- Children under age 14 may join this class if a responsible adult also registers to attend and participate with them.
- Registration allows for one Guest per class project.
- Only Registered Guests may attend class.
