9/4/26 - Make Fused Glass Sun Catchers - Beginners Class with Kathy Downs at ARTworks Vass
Join North Carolina Glass Artist, Kathy Downs on Friday, Sept 4th, from 1:00 until 4:00 to create Unique Fused Glass Sun Catchers!
- Shapes include circles, squares, ovals and hearts.
- Glass will be available in all colors of the rainbow.
- Compose your piece with glass pebbles, stringer, noodles, Murrini Glass, and other fun shapes.
- Make 1, 2, or 3 pieces, and the design choices for each are all up to you!
After class, Kathy will kiln fire your projects and return them to the gallery in approximately one week.
Beginners are welcome, and no previous experience is needed.
Kathy Downs discovered her passion for glass art in 2011 when she and her family moved to the Quantico, Virginia area. Initially her small glass pieces were unique gifts for family and friends but as her collection and skills grew, she started selling her glass to fund her "glass" habit! She now creates both large and small fused glass piecces in her home-based studio. With 38 years of educational experience, she's excited to teach and mentor aspiring glass artists through her fused glass classes at ARTworks Vass.
Important Information:
- Beginners are welcome.
- Please note: ARTworks Vass is home to friendly gallery/studio cats who may be present during classes and events. 🐾
- Children aged 14 and older may attend class independently.
- School aged children, who follow instructions well, may also attend this class with a registered adult.
- For the safety of all involved, we require that children be dropped-off and picked-up with their instructor in the classroom. Street or parking lot pickups are not permitted.
- Registration allows for one Guest per class project.
- Only Registered Guests may attend class.
- Registrations are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
- Class starts promptly on time.
- Dress to mess or bring an apron.
- You will be notified when your project is ready to pick up. We will hold it for 90 days with monthly notifications by text or phone. If you haven't requested an extension or picked up your work within 90 days, your project will be disposed of at the gallery's discretion.
