Encaustic techniques are often thought of as "painting with melted wax". This technique originated in Egypt as early as 100–300 AD. The hot wax medium is used as a top coat over photos, giving the photo an aged textured look.
Join Rick Martinez on Friday, October 25th from 9:00 until 4:00 as he leads you though the process of adding color and texture using ink, paint, and wax. Your subject matter can be random or a theme and used as Wall Art or bound together as a book. The possibilities are as endless as your imagination!
Class includes all materials and images for your use or you may bring your own photos and ephemera to use. Please contact Martinez at info@ARTworksVass.com if you have any questions about the types of materials that will work well with this process. Optional Lunch may be purchased when you register via this page.
Whether you’re creating for yourself or to share, the pieces you make will be treasured for a lifetime.
