Thomas Graham’s brightly colored Tin Can Collage process repurposes metal that would otherwise be destined for the landfill. His finished pieces may reflect his love of nature, and birds in particular. It may also take a deliberate turn toward more abstract work as he incorporates the graphic highlights of a variety of carefully curated found printed tins and cans.
During this all-inclusive class, scheduled on Saturday, October 26th from 9am-4pm, Thomas will provide all necessary tools and he'll share his extensive collection of tin and metal with students. You will learn his best practices for the selection of raw materials, deconstruction of cans, tins, and other metal objects, safe tool usage, the art of layout and design, and attachment and finishing techniques. An option lunch will also be included when you register.
Thomas will cater to the needs of each guest in class… from those who never worked with metal previously to those who are more seasoned metal artists.
Please note that while all supplies are included in the cost of this class, guests are invited to bring a few of their own prized tins, cans, and other metal parts and pieces to incorporate in their finished originals.
