1/13/20 Resin Charm Making - Class with Jean Skipper - Evening Session
On Monday, January 13th from 5:30 until 7:30, you'll have the opportunity to create one-of-a-kind solid brass round charms that capture the words and miniature treasures of your choice in resin.
Jean will present you with easy instructions and hands-on assistance during every step of the process as she informs you about safe tool and chemical usage, metal preparation, the layout and design of each charm, and finishing possibilities. She’ll also provide you with all of the supplies and tools that you’ll need to complete your beautiful resin charms.
You can expect to leave class with 3 charms that will be finished by the addition of a jump ring for hanging. They may be used in more elaborate creations during future classes, and pendants, bracelets, earrings, or embellishments in mixed media works of art are all possibilities!
Please Note: The charms made during this class will require a twenty-four hour curing time after class, and a jump ring for hanging will be provided for each.
Examples of Jean's Resin Charms and her Resin Jewelry are shown in the photos on this page.
Whether you’re creating for yourself or a friend; the pieces that you make in this class will be treasured for a lifetime. (If you find that you’re hooked, and that 3 charms just aren't enough... you’ll also have the opportunity to make extras at a cost a cost of $9 each.)
Reservations are encouraged for this class, as we expect it to fill quickly. They may be made online here or by calling 910-245-4129.
For groups of five or more, Jean will be happy to host this class in the evening or at a time that works best for your schedule.
Jean Skipper is an artist from Vass, North Carolina, who creates mixed-media storytelling jewelry. Her work can be whimsical or sentimental, and sometimes it’s a bit of both. Hand applied words and textures play an important role in most everything that she creates. These details help to tell the story of each piece, and they encourage the wearer to share their personal memories and stories.
