Join Jodi Ohl on Saturday, April 14th, from 9:00 until 4:00 for this full day class at a cost of $167. In addition to receiving your own personal supply kit, Jodi will be sharing her supplies during class.
If you’ve found creating facial features intimidating, this is the class for you!
During this action packed one day workshop, we will explore creating features of the face with water soluble products including, pencils, drawing tools, pens, and watercolors. Create many studies of each features before moving on to an intriguing portrait of your choice. Students will be guided through several exercises that will build upon each other that you can use as studies in your future portrait work.
This class will go beyond the cute facial features while adding touches of whimsy and color. Our demonstrations will focus on realism with a slant above fanciful.
Explore effectively drawing what you SEE rather than what you believe you see!
Your Personal Supply Kit with include surfaces to work with during class, including mixed media paper, water color paper, toned paper and drawing paper. You'll also receive small to medium round waterbrush pens, and/or #2,#4, or #6 watercolor brushes. And assorted small tip permanent India Ink pens. (suggested brand: Faber Castell)
Supplies to be shared include palette paper, a water container, paper towels, and an apron
****Please bring a few inspirational photos of faces or features that intrigue you. Self-portraits, magazine photos are great.
NOTE, if you are a beginner drawing/painting faces, please choose a front face photo and one without teeth showing.
And Finally... as an added bonus, students of this class will have the opportunity to work independently on a product of their choice, as they'll be invited to join us for a Free Open Studio Day on Friday, February 13th, from 10:00 - 8:00!
