This Cochin Rooster is one proud bird!
Painted by Beth Roy, this framed on-of-a-kind original oil painting is finished for display, and it will show equally well on a wall or on a shelf.
Beth Roy was born and raised in rural Michigan, and she arrived in The Sandhills in 2001 from Tampa, Florida. Just before joining the United States Army in 1983, she discovered her talent and her love of painting. She majored in Art in college as she moved from place to place with her military husband.
Beth considers her work to be highly representational and generally realistic. She explains her creative process in this way, “I initially seek good composition. I zero in on the lights and darks, while keeping in mind colorful shadows or mid-values. All of my paintings start with a fairly dry ground color, not a white canvas, and then blocks of color are added. Very thin paint is applied first, and only at the end are details and thicker paints added. The creative process is so satisfying for me. Fortunately, I don’t feel anxiety or stress while creating. I love the idea that my work continues to give pleasure to collectors every time that they see it. The purchase of original art is an investment that pays off with years of enjoyment.”
The final photo in this listing shows a large collection of Beth's paintings that were recently delivered to ARTworks Vass. Not be limited to one form of art, Beth is also an accomplished North Carolina Potter, and you'll find a selection of her recent work here at ARTworks Vass.
